BUYERS  PLEASE BE AWARE  !!!!!
I am sure all potential family dog purchasers realize, the pup they purchase is a long term investment and will become a
''MEMBER'' of the family.

Nothing is ever absolute, but your chances are MUCH BETTER if you acquire a pup from  PROVEN PARENTS, and
experienced, reputable breeder who have been breeding goldens for some time.  Professional references from a
breeder is a good indication the breeder is reputable.

Likewise, the chances of having your pup grow into a sound,
functional dog are much greater if the pup comes DIRECTLY
out of parents who have be OFA certified and have had their eyes cleared of hereditary problems and Cardiac certified.  Making sure the sire and dam are clear increases your chance of having having a problem free pup.  THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL IF A DOG IS DYPLASTIC EXCEPT THROUGH
X-RAYING THE DOG.  JUST BECAUSE THE PARENTS WERE
OKAY, DOES NOT MEAN THAT IS IS OKAY, EVERY DOG USED FOR BREEDING MUST BE CHECKED.

I continuously research ads in local papers  in my area and surrounding areas and their are too many folks selling pups
without the parents having health clearances.  Folks purchasing these pups for approximately $400.00 TO $700.00
THINK they are getting a great deal.  Little do they realize they have a significant increase of getting a puppy whom
will have significant medical bills, possible aggression issues,
year round allergies (more money at the veterinary) and not
live very long.  I have heard things like ''my vet looked at my
female, and said she would never have hip dysplasia,'' and ''well, the sire of the dam of my dog had an OFA number, so that means my dog is find',  ''She  (he) has never shown any problems, so we know they have good hips'', Just because the dam or sire's PARENTS had good hips does not mean that the dog has good hips.  Hip dysplasia can only be detected by taking an x-ray of the dog, PERIOD.  Any one of
the above statements should rase a big flage!!!  CAVEAT EMPTOR, BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has been proven that 30% of Labs and 40%of Goldens will have hip problems.  Your chance of getting a pup who will
grow up normal is MUCH GREATER if both the sire and dam
are OFA Certified or Prelimaries hip/elbows completed.

WE CONTINUALYY SELL pups to people who had previously
bought a pup out of the paper, from unproven stock.  These
dogs usually died very prematurely.  Also, none of the pups were backed up by any kind of guarantee, just people wanting to make a quick buck.  Never taking into consideration the pain of the puppy and the emotional toll
a sick pup takes on folks and the nightmare when they have to put their pet down.
A typical hip replacement can run between $3,000.00 to
$4,000.00 and they are not always successfull.

These are things we don't particularly want to think about
when purchasing  puppy.  But, these issues are definitely
out their.  Therefore, when folks say they have health clearances on the sire and dam I recommend seeing the
health certificates.  One can say anything and everything to sell a pup.

Any pup can have physical problems; however, your chances are
better if you purchase from carefully screened, good stock
which has been proven preferably for generations.

Buying a pup from someone who has not taken the time, and does
not care enough to check their breeding stock for cleared hips/eyes/heart, means you are not purchasing a pup from a
SERIOUS BREEDER. Chances are, they are just out to ''make a buck'' off of you, and other innocent hunters.  ALWAYS make
sure:  their are health clearances on sire and dam and you get a health guarantee with your new pup.
